Put a Sweater on, I’m cold

That never made sense to me when I was a kid.  How could my running around in a t-shirt and shorts make my mother cold?  Usually it was socks.  My Mom hated to see my brother and I in the house without socks.  It used to make her cold.

Then I had kids.

Now sometimes in the winter, when I see my oldest trotting around the house without socks or a sweater, I actually get a chill.  Weird, isn’t it?

I guess it goes under the column of unexplained things.  I hate admitting my Mother was right.  Especially after going through my teenage years knowing for certain that she was wrong, about everything.  When you’re a teenager, with very few exceptions, your parents are stupid.  They’re uncool.  They don’t understand ‘now’.  Isn’t it amazing that when you hit the age of about 20 you notice how smart your parents have suddenly become?  They’ve gone up about 20 IQ points in the past five years…
