…And Bells on Her Toes

Caity’s not eating baby food anymore.  She’s growing up so fast, I’m not sure how I feel about that.  We were giving her lunches from those Heinz jars and I guess with the influx of real human food that she’s received lately, she’s discovered flavour.  Any time we try and give her food from a jar, it quickly comes back out – I thought the tongue thrust reflex only happened when they were very young.

Perhaps I have a young gourmet on my hands?

Lexy used to be a very good eater, but for the past year or so she’s become very picky.  If it’s junk she’s there!  She could single-handedly keep McDonalds in business.  Mind you, she loves home cooking.  If I make spaghetti she gobbles that down.  She doesn’t like beef, but she loves “ham”.  When she was younger we called everything “chicken” because that was the only way she would eat anything.  I served Pork, “What are we having?”, “chicken”.  I served fish, “Mom, what’s this?”, “Chicken”.

Now I think Lexy is going through a growth spurt because she is constantly hungry.  I’m sure that when she gets to be a teenager that she’ll eat me out of house and home … I can hardly wait.  Maybe it’s a good thing that I didn’t have boys …
