…And Bells on Her Toes

Today started off fantastic.  Husband went to work, kids slept in.  That means I got to sleep in.  It’s a rare thing when you’re a Mom.  You’re always sleep deprived. 

Caity got up like normal around 6:30, but I found that if I ignore her long enough, she’ll go back to sleep.  And this morning she did.  Actually all weekend I managed to stay in bed until about 9:00.  I don’t remember the last time I did that.

Cait’s good.  She will sit in her crib and play with her stuffed toy until she’s really ready to get up.  Then she uses those famous lungs of hers and subtly tells me it’s time to get up.

Lex got up by herself, went to the bathroom and then crawled into bed with me.  We had a long snuggle and it was heavenly.  There’s really nothing like a little kid snuggle to make you feel good.

Now that we’re up, Caity’s destroying the family room.  She picks up the pillows from the couch and moves them from one spot to the other and back again.  She gave Lexy a sweater to cuddle and grabbed a blanket for herself.

I think I like these long weekends…
