What Was Simon Thinking?

I have this horrible premonition that David Archuleta will win.

He doesn’t deserve it.

He needs his own Karaoke bar.

What was Simon thinking?  Was he even thinking?  How could he say that the beautiful rendition of “The World I Know” by Collective Soul that David Cook sang was wrong?  It was exactly the right song for him, he did it proud.  And like David C. said, why do something you’ve already done? … He did a great job with U2’s “Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For“.

I’m still reeling from the accolades the judges bestowed upon David A.  I thought he sucked tonight.  He completely ruined “Imagine“, possibly one of the greatest songs ever written.   He even got “pitchy” as Randy likes to say.  “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” was laughable and whiney at best.

OMG and dragging the has-been Rueben Studdard out at the end?? Puh-lease!  Didn’t his record label drop him because he sucked because of poor sales?  We had to listen to that horrible song each time someone left the show this season, and now we have to listen to the entire thing, live .. ugh, I think my eardrums are actually bleeding …

How I wish we could vote for the contestants from Canada.  David Cook, I hope you win.  If there is any sanity in this world and if people actually voted for the person who can sing the best, then you deserve it.  If it’s a popularity contest based on the budding hormonal inclinations of ten year olds, then I’m afraid it will go to Mr. Archuleta.

Wake me when it’s over …

Bisphenol A Duckie, Sung to the Tune of Rubber Duckie

Bisphenol A Duckie, you’re the one, you make bathtime lots of fun

Oh Bisphenol A Duckie, you’re my very best friend, it’s true…

Not as catchy as the original Rubber Duckie as sung by Ernie, is it?  *sigh*.  There was an interesting article in the Toronto Star today.  It makes me want for a simpler life.

My first born collects ‘rubber’ duckies.  She has a whole family of them and they all have names.  There’s Grandma Duck, Mother Duck, Susie Duck, Brother Duck, Little Bebito (I have no idea where she got the name for that one) and I think Sarah Duck.  I might be missing one or two of them, but you get the idea.  There was a worry that we left Little Bebito at Grandma’s one day and she thought her little cousin, Logan, would do him harm, but luckily all turned out well.

Now that Caity’s taking baths in the big tub, she’s been known to play with – and chew on – a ‘rubber’ duckie.  She finds them very intriguing.  Apparently they are quite the conversationalists too because Cait will babble away to them for hours on end if we let her.

It seems as though we’ll have to take them away.  Lexy’s past the age of putting them in her mouth, but Caity isn’t.  Caity still chews on things, especially during teething.  Isn’t it sad that we can’t continue the tradition of playing with the rubber duckies with our kids for fear of their safety?  It seems like as long as we don’t drink the water, breathe the air, or eat the food, we’ll all be ok.

OK maybe, but what a way to live …
